Today, those who want to work while traveling are looking for ways to become a digital nomad. This concept is very popular these days.We can define Digital nomads as, people who have developed a sustainable business model without being tied to a location When we talk about employees who are working without being physically attached to a place, we usually think of freelancers, but in recent years as companies has moved to remote working (see remote working) employees has started to live as a digital nomad. Also, according to the US Gallup poll in 2020, about two-thirds of employees who switched to the remote working system during the pandemic want continue to do so after the pandemic ends.
Both employees and freelancers can work without being tied to a place, the point that makes the difference is,while freelancers plan their work and time as they wish, employees in companies usually plan their days based on working hours. Things that can be considered negative by digital nomads;
- It can be hard getting used to frequently changing places or conditions (different cultures, food, people)
- Internet connection problem or poor quality
- Living can be expensive in some countries
- Frequent travels cause fatigue
